Happy New Year! We left this morning about 7:30 - temp was 38. That's pretty cold for this area. Another beautiful day for traveling. Very light traffic. We can tell we're in the South because in southern GA we start to see Spanish moss on the trees. (I guess seeing cotton being harvested yesterday was another clue!) In northern FL (especially near Ocala) we begin so see many horse farms, some very nice rivaling those near Lexington, KY, with fancy entrances at the gates. We also see a lot of cattle farms. First bird report - we see many turkey or black vultures. Also begin to see some egrets in ponds or lakes. As we near Tampa, traffic starts to get heavier. Lunch just south of Tampa at Bob Evans temp 76. Just perfect. This is what I've been waiting for!! Arrive at our RV park at 2:30, temp 78. Quick check in, saw Bob, a man who works at the park. He used to live in Kankakee, so he knows us well. He helped me find a man to take our 5th wheel from storage and put it on our site. He wouldn't take payment, but finally agreed to two 24 cases of Budlight! Everything went well with set up, except the refrigerator doesn't work. We had received a letter saying there was a problem with a certain part involving the coolant and we have a number to call. Wonder how long that will take to get fixed. So we are going to use a cooler with ice for the things that need to be kept cool. Kind of limiting. We went for light supper at Arbys about 3 blocks south, and then to grocery store about 1 block north. Very tired, so early to bed.
