Jan. 21
Pretty cold this morning - only 37. The high was only 56 today, and it was windy. We didn’t do any ‘outside’ things - lunch here, then shopping at CompUSA for a great deal on a 16 GB flash drive ($25 after rebates) and a small MP3 player. (Hey, I’m old, but I still want to see what it’s like to get music from a totally new source. We‘re a long way from those 8 track tapes, and even further from those 45 rpm records we loved during high school days.) Also went to Walmart for a fishing license and lots of incidentals. I’m always amazed at how much stuff we end up buying when we go there intending to buy 1 or 2 things. On the way back, went to a big Barnes and Noble, looked at books a lot, and had coffee and a scone. Home for a light supper.

From the paper:
A grand jury has indicted a man on charges of fatally shooting a bald eagle. The U.S. Attorney's Office announced the indictment Friday of 32-year-old Jesse Tyrone Barresse. If convicted, Barresse faces one year in prison and a $5,000 fine. Killing a bald eagle is a violation of the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. According to the indictment, Barresse knowingly shot the bald eagle in Ruskin on Tuesday. The case was investigated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
