Sorry I haven't posoted for awhile, but I was having a problem with my WiFi connection. I hope it's back for good now.

Spent a relaxing morning, reading and planning our up-coming stay at Pompano Beach. (More about that later.) Unfortunately, the WiFi signal was very weak today, so I couldn’t be on the internet much. I would get on for a few minutes, then the signal would be lost and I’d have to start again. Finally I just gave up and did other things, like work on the church’s endowment fund treasurer’s report. We went to the movie at about 3:30 (Grand Torino with Clint Eastwood)

From the paper:
The Lee County School Board made cuts of $11.6 million in their budget last Nov., but it was not enough. Another cut of $42 million has to be made, so as many as 400 staff positions will be cut. By law, the district is required to maintain a balanced budget. The $1.5 billion budget is about $80 million smaller than in 2007-08.

It didn’t get as cold last night (40’s) and it warmed up into the 70’s by noon. About 10:30, we went to walk at Lakes Park, but sopped at Perkins first for a blueberry muffin and coffee. I didn’t have my camera, so of course we saw some great bird pictures, including getting close to a wood stork. Also, a 10 to 12 ft. long alligator was out of the water completely, sunbathing on the opposite shore of the pond. I wish I would have had the video camera, because we saw a little blue heron close up, catching a small fish and eating it. Lunch at the 5th wheel, relaxed, went to a party at Allen & Ginny Halterman’s to celebrate Judy Ahearn’s birthday. They have a condo in Bonita Springs. Had a good talk with Jennifer Ahearn - she flew down from NJ for several days to help celebrate her mom’s birthday. Christine was going to come also, but she was sick and couldn’t make it. Also had a visit with Bill and June Halter man - they live just two doors down from Allen & Ginny. A very nice time, good food and drink again, mostly the same people as at Ahearn’s earlier party.

Almost hit a record low last night - down to 33! The record low is 30, and the record high is 88 (too hot!) Some places had a freeze last night, so the cost of citrus will probably be going up. It’s supposed to get into mid 60’s today, then mid to upper 70’s for a week. Tonight, upper 30’s, and then low to mid 50’s for a week. The cold is always like that - lasts for 1 or 2 days, and then it’s back to the 70’s.
