Jan. 29
Watched the sun come up about 7 a.m., walked over to resort garden area to use internet. WiFi is only available in an area over there, not in our room. Had coffee and a snack, Linda went to the beach to listen to a lady talk about birds, lizards, and shells. I read the paper, relaxed. For lunch, drove south a couple of miles to a very nice seafood place, Sea Watch. After a great lunch of black bean soup, seafood pasta, and crab cake sandwith, we walked on the beach there. On the way back, we drove around a little - south to Anglin’s Pier in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, north along the Intercoastal Waterway (saw some beautiful homes and really big yachts), past Hillsboro Light house. Lite supper in our room.

We ate an early lunch, then left for Pompano Beach at about 11:30. We got to the outskirts of Ft. Lauderdale about 1:30, but then it took another 40 minutes to get through town to the beach. We stopped at the city fishing pier and beach area, sat in the shade on the beach and had a snack. Went to check in about 3 p.m. The resort is Wyndham Sea Gardens, and it is big - covers 7+ acres. We are in an efficiency, and all the efficiencies are right on the beach in two 4 story buildings, with a swimming pool between them, across the street from the main resort. The main resort has two rows of two story 1 & 2 bedroom units, with a very pretty garden area between them - lots of plants, 2 heated swimming pools, several hot tubs, a small waterfall, lots of places to sit (I’m typing this at one of the tables) and the obligatory tiki bar. At the end of that area, there is another unit 9 stories high with more 1 & 2 bedroom units and a parking garage, and from the top of it you can see the ocean and also the intercostals waterway. We park on the street beside our unit. Very nice place, but the area is only motels and resorts - and beach access is almost entirely through resorts only. After checking in, we walked on the beach and around the resort. Lite supper in our room.
