Feb. 9
Not getting as cool at night now, down to the upper 50’s. Then up to 80 today. We are flying home tomorrow for a week, and it’s supposed to be in the 60’s there. We are really anxious to see the grandkids and kids. Called the taxi company to get picked up at 5 a.m. in the morning - kind of early, but our flight is at 6:30. It only takes about 10 minutes to get to the airport. Big lunch here, rested, then to Walgreen’s for a few things. Stopped at ice cream shop for a sundae on the way back. Then walked it off on a big hike at Lakes Park. I decided not to carry my camera, since I have taken so many pictures of herons, egrets, etc. already. So of course, we say a pleated woodpecker! That’s the real big one (15 inch long body). It would have been a great picture, with the sun behind his red topknot making it glow! From now on, I’m taking BOTH my binoculars and my camera on every walk. Lite supper here, packed for tomorrow’s flight home.

Did our usual Sunday thing - Starbucks, church. For lunch, went to Islamarada Fish Company at Bass Pro, one of our favorite places. I had broiled scallops and Linda had fried shrimp. Both were excellent. Had a relaxing afternoon, then went for a long walk south of us. The temperature is perfect. After the huge lunch, just had apple and cheese for supper.
