Feb. 18
Got up at 3:00 a.m. in order to leave at 4:15 a.m. to get to David’s house at 5:30 a.m. so he could get us to the airport at 6:15 a.m. to catch our flight back to Ft. Myers at 7:25 a.m. (How is that for one sentence!) I always am a little tense until we get through security and sit down at the gate to wait for boarding. Then we relax and get a cup of coffee and a snack. We had a connecting flight to Philadelphia, (about 2hours) then an hour layover, then the flight to Ft. Myers (about 3 hours). So it took about 6 hours and 10 minutes for a flight that could be about 2 ½ hours if non-stop. But to get the lowest fare, you have to fly early and with a connection.
When we left Chicago, it was 40 and raining - when we arrived at Ft. Myers, it was 77 and sunny. Any questions about why we come south?

Feb. 11 - Feb. 17
I’m not going to detail this time period that we spent at home in Mazon. It was terrific to see everyone and celebrate Daniel’s first birthday and Paige’s ninth. We were very busy, and even got in a day in Chicago so Paige could go spend some birthday money at the American Doll Store in Water Tower Place. The highlight of that day for me was eating at the Cheesecake Factory across the street in the bottom of the Hancock building!
