Feb. 19
Weather is perfect. When I rode my bike to get the paper this morning at 8, the temperature was 70. It got up to 78, and there was a nice breeze. This Saturday it’s supposed to be 68, but then in mid to upper 70’s for highs and mid to upper 50’s for lows for the next week. Lunch here, then to the library, to Starbucks for coffee and a snack, to the grocery store, and home for supper.
FROM THE PAPER:
Seven people are facing possible state and federal charges after they wantonly killed 21 birds, of which 15 are federally protected. Officers heard gunshots at a bird rookery, and upon investigating found white ibises, blue herons, tri-colored herons, and snowy egrets, all of which were shot. The men were from Florida, New York, Maryland, and New Jersey. Firearms seized included shotguns, rifles and pistols, and one of the pistols registered as stolen.
