Went for a long bike ride in the morning, lunch here, then went to the movie “The Reader”. We’re trying to see the academy award nominees before Sunday’s Oscar show. It was even better than Slumdog, in our opinion. I’m always very interested in holocaust stories, and this one had a very different twist to it. It should win the oscar for best movie, Kate Winslet should win for best actress, and I don’t understand why Ralph Fiennes was not nominated - they both were terrific. After the 1 p.m. movie, we went to the bookstore for coffee and a snack, I read there while Linda shopped at Target. Home for lite supper.

Home values are down, but the rich seem to be less affected. Of course, these are prices in ads, so maybe they aren’t selling, but some are for sure. There are still way too many people with way too much money.
Prices at Lely Resort in Naples - $610,000 : 645,000 : several from 750,000 to over 2 million. And at Park Shore in Naples - $2.7 million : two at 3.5 million, but you had better hurry - one of those has a sale pending!

Feb. 20
Low overnight was 57 and high today was 76. It’s nice to have every day be mostly sunny, but they really need rain here. Normal rainfall by this time of the year is 5.5 inches, and they have had only .24 . This past week, they had 3 brush fires, none were major. Down here, fire is the bad thing that comes with dry weather.
Went for a short bike ride in the morning (cool wind out of the north), read the paper, lunch here, went to the movie “Slumdog Millionaire”. It was excellent, best one we’ve seen. Lite supper at Islamarada Fish Company.
